Hello again everyone! So here is another high-poly model I built several years ago that I never got around to texturing. ( you can see the untextured version towards the end of my art station galleries ) So I am currently working on a review article for CGchannel.com benchmarking Nvidia's new RTX A6000 GPU and I wanted to set up a GPU render scene to try and tax the 48GB of RAM on the GPU. Also I wanted to see how well a 48GB Ampere GPU could handle running substance painter with a 20 million polygon mesh ( tank only ) and lots of 4K texture layers, and surprisingly it did quite well. The end result is a roughly 80 million polygon scene ( tank with TurboSmooth modifiers applied, and the base, ground, and rubble assets ) with a mixture of 4K & 8K textures at 4.47 GB. ( on disk size ) The scene ends up using roughly 37 GB of GPU VRAM while rendering with Vray 5 GPU, and 19.4 GB of VRAM in Substance Painter. As usual, thoughts or suggestions are always welcome, and thanks everyone!
