( Update 1 ) Hey everyone! So what started as a simple experiment to learn UE4's Runtime Virtual Texturing & volumetric Cloud system ended up expanding to become a full world-building test to see how quickly I could put together a small-medium sized open world using as much procedural work-flow that I could with default UE4 tools. So am using procedural foliage volumes in lots of places, as well as driving a lot of the terrain features and vegetation through the landscape shader. Also made heavy use of the terrain sculpting layers. The landscape is roughly 4.2 sq km, and although I haven't fully filled it in yet, I've finished about 2/3 of it in about a month, which I feel is reasonably quick. Since this was a world-building exercise, most of the assets are from either Megascans / Epic UE4 projects / or other various asset store packs, albeit tuned and modified to fit my needs. I wanted to build out a full dungeon also, which I started on, but seeing as how it looks like my character roadblock on my Start Wars Dark Forces project might be easing up a bit here soon, I am not sure if I will get to doing the dungeon. I will however add a walk-through video of the level here soon. Thanks everyone!
